Social Media has so much information and so many good Twitter questions are being put out there and then the advice is missed and lost forever in the Twittersphere. The goal of this weekly column will be to point out key Tweets each week that our UTH staff have answered so that you can really dive into everyday strategy questions that the UTH Staff sees on Twitter.
Make sure to check out my first installment here.

This is partly a shameless plug for one of the owners of UTH. The other part of this message should carry a much deeper message to all of us and that message is “pick a voice and stick with it.” It is great if you listen to every dynasty podcast out there, watch Twitter trades, and ask questions to all of your favorite writers, but do you have a specific vision, voice, and message that you are focusing on? If you don’t then your strategy will waiver and your team will suffer. At UTH we have owners that review and edit all material before being posted, contributors that are very like-minded with the owners, and a very focused message that all of our articles focus around. Are our rankings going to be 100% the same? No way! But, we are all probably going to be very close on most players and communicate with each other to work through bigger debates. At uthdynasty.com you will read featured material from our contributors, player comparable articles, listen to UTH-2-Go podcasts, UTH Academy podcasts, read rookie rankings, rebuilding rankings, and DEVY rankings.

The art of finding information isn’t hard, but knowing how to effectively use all the different platforms is. Twitter, Facebook, texting, and emailing. There are so many ways to communicate with people it is important to know what to use and the best possible way to use it.
How many people out there use twitter to reach out to @DynastyTrades, @ChadParsons, and @Harahduh2? How many people realize that half of their league is also on Twitter watching the feedback that you are getting on a trade that was just offered to you? I have asked each fantasy football writer that I want to ask to follow me too so that I can send them a direct message. Sure there are deals that I am fine throwing out to the masses and getting a ton of feedback, but be careful. The next time you get that slam dunk offer and tweet it out, that offer may get revoked after the first Twitter response.
Facebook is a different beast in itself. This platform is not centered around finding unknown people and asking for advice. Facebook is a great way to connect with friends in a common place and respond to things at your leisure. Something I recommend for a league would be to start a private Facebook group. It gives you the freedom to joke around, send blast trade offers, and set a schedule for when things are happening in the league.

@TimNFL A simple my name is email with “what podcasts do you listen to” is a great step to get into other owners minds and know their values

Continuing on the theme of communication I often do this when taking over an orphan or meet new people in a start-up. It isn’t enough to just look at an owner’s team and get an idea of their team build. I like to know what other owners are listening to and what their values are. If a person listens to UTH I know that I am going to be moving up young players that I like multiple spots. Also, you are almost getting their cheat sheet. If an owner comes to you and says that they swear by DLF and say “I love listening to” or “I love reading” a certain person I will go to the rankings of that site and that person and see where there are major value discrepancies. Know your league, know the guys you play with, and find market differences that will give you the edge.
