Social Media

Social Media has so much information and so many good Twitter questions are being put out there and then the advice is missed and lost forever in the Twittersphere.  The goal of this weekly column will be to point out key Tweets each week with our UTH staff have answered so you can dive into everyday strategy questions the UTH Staff sees on Twitter.

I generally jump right into this article, but I want to add a welcome to the 2015-2016 regular NFL season.  We have all waited a long time to get here.  This is my first full regular season writing for UTH and I am excited about all of the new content we are putting out, new angles we are viewing the NFL, and even weekly DFS stacks are being posted.  Working for such an amazing and forward-thinking website is outstanding and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the team.

Now on to business!

Katie Flower (@FF_Skyler399)

Katie is one of the few people I know who has more fantasy football teams than I do and she is by far the best I have ever seen at managing her time with them and being aggressive with all of them.  So when she talks about management of multiple teams I listen.  Not only does Katie talk about roster management from a MyFantasyLeague only aspect, but she also dives into what she does since she deals with multiple league providers.  Chad often talks about how once he really gets into his dynasty leagues he often doesn’t have to do much in terms of management (small pick-ups and the occasional trade). I personally have the opportunity to play against Katie in a league and getting a glimpse into her roster management I can use it to my advantage.  Moreover she is an amazing manager of all of her teams, so I will take any advice I can get.

If you are truly a UTH follower, you send out more offers than your average Joe.  UTH means you will also have a vastly different view on player value than most of the other people in your leagues as well.  That being said people will not always send you the types of offers you want.  They will try to buy low on young talent and not realize you are stockpiling young talent, people will expect you to be willing to give up the depth you have on your roster for peanuts, and you will also send out offers to other owners with which they will not agree.  All of these things being said the best thing for you is to keep the lines of communication open and be clear about how you are trying to build your team.

Chad Parsons (@CharParsonsNFL)

Devy leagues are very new to me.  I am a Mount Union alumni (yes I have met Pierre Garcon and Cecil Shorts) and an Ohio State fan.  College football outside of Ohio State has never meant much to me.  Now being in a devy league it forces me to go deeper and learn more than I ever have before about the college game and watching the development of these young players.  I have started paying attention to college statistics, reading about player performances, and learning about what to look for in players having an eye towards the NFL.  More than anything I have started reviewing the Devy projection model scores for my favorite prospects and read the articles from the UTH staff on the college game.  From time to time I will even ask Chad to write up certain players I am curious about from college football.  Click here to check out Chad’s most recent article on Corey Davis and Rashard Higgins to see get a glimpse of two of this year’s best wide receivers in the college game.
