Bowls are here. This time of year is wonderful. Spending time with family, football on television almost every day. This is also our last opportunity to see college players on the field before the long offseason begins. These previews will give you an idea of which devy players and rookie prospects are playing during bowl season.
BYU vs Wyoming
Wednesday, December 21st 9:00 PM
BYU redshirt senior running back Jamaal Williams has been shooting up draft boards and has gotten national attention as a feature back. The 6’2″ 220lb back has some off the field issues including a year-long suspension in 2015 for “rules violations.” While he has not been involved in the receiving game in 2016, Williams has shown the ability to catch passes in his collegiate career with 27 catches his freshman year. As a red-shirt senior, he is coming out old but has the skillset to be a flip candidate at worst.
Wyoming junior running back Brian Hill has been a workhorse for the Cowboys with 323 carries on the season. As highlighted in the Week 9 preview, Hill has prototypical size for the NFL. While Hill is not active in the receiving game, he has the potential to be the lead back in a committee.
Louisiana Tech vs Navy
Friday, December 23rd 4:30 PM
After losing Kenneth Dixon last year, Louisiana Tech has focused their offense on two wide receivers, senior Trent Taylor and junior Carlos Henderson. These two receivers have posted nearly two-thirds of the Bulldogs receiving stats. While both are small, their production puts them on the radar. Take this opportunity to watch film on these prospects before the all important combine results come in.
