Another early rookie draft is in the books and ready for evaluation and discussion. This league drafted their startup in the spring of 2015, with rookie draft slots included instead of individual rookies.
I loaded up on rookie picks in the draft with eight selections in the first three rounds, including five Round 1 picks and three in the first six selections.
Round 1
I let my first three picks (1.02, 1.04, 1.06) come to me as it is tough to get truly squeezed out of target players in the top-6. In the start-1RB mandatory format, Amari Cooper was the 1.01 in front of me as expected. Todd Gurley was an easy choice and the top talent blended well with the largely ignored running back position in the startup on my squad.
Then a pleasant surprise struck the draft….
