During the preseason, we saw a number of players stock rise based on the speculation of what the regular season would hold. Now with a couple of games in the books, owners will begin to reevaluate their lofty 2014 expectations for unproven players. There is serious value to be mined by taking advantage over those owners who take their eye off the big picture and focus on weekly plays. Here are the week two buy low/sell high players dynasty owners need to know about.

Sell Highs:

  • Andre Ellington: In one of the leagues I play in, I recently saw Ellington traded for Victor Cruz and a 2015 first.
  • Antonio Gates: Off even the redraft radar three weeks ago, Gates’ second wind gives owners their best chance in years to cash out.
  • Marshawn Lynch
  • Arian Foster

Arian Foster’s volume dependency is concerning, and Lynch is fighting through a back issue. With the recent surge in running back injuries, this is a great chance to take advantage of an owner desperate for a productive back. You might even be able to package up to one of the “Big-6” wide receivers.

  • James Jones
  • Steve Smith
  • Andrew Hawkins
  • Julian Edelman

Some volume based receivers who’s production has their short-term value trending upward.

  • Bobby Rainey
  • Bernard Pierce
  • Justin Forsett

A few players to flip while taking advantage of owners reeling from the rash of running back injuries. I would really try to package up Pierce to get up to Allen Robinson or Odell Beckham.

  • Brian Quick: This is a chance to flip a recent waiver add into a second round pick or higher, but I could not argue with owners who would like to hold just to see if this level of production continues.

Buy Lows:

Several injury plagued players who could be had for a discount. Michael was recently going in the top-50 of startups, so anything to lessen that price-point makes him a solid buy. Dobson for second round value is not out of the question. I have nabbed ASJ off of the waiver wire, so I know owners are quickly cooling on him.

  • Donte Moncrief
  • Bishop Sankey
  • Ladarius Green
  • Justin Hunter
  • Mike Evans
  • Jace Amaro
  • Michael Floyd

Currently “underperforming” for their respective draft positions, all have high talent ceilings, and are great players to target from impatient owners. Floating out first round rookie value for any of these players (except Amaro) provides some great upside, especially if that pick comes from a contending team. Others, like Sankey, Floyd and Evans, might require some creative packaging up, but they might never be cheaper.

These players have showed some glimpses, but are still being undervalued. They all saw their rookie draft ADP slip this summer, and need to be targeted if their owners still consider them late first round value. Recently was able to move Martellus Bennett and a third for Allen Robinson.
