The tight end position is not as glamorous as the wide receivers in fantasy football. They score less overall and only 12-15 are viable in typical leagues based on starting requirements and scoring. That said, tight end – like quarterback – is a position to exploit for value based on its shallow viability. Finding a TE1 off the scrap heap is a huge advantage considering the capital some of the other owners will use on similar production. Here is a visual of the team-by-team production since 2008:

  • AVG = Average finish from 2008 to 2014 for given team
