The power of twitter strikes again with this series of polarizing dynasty players submitted to @ChadParsonsNFL. Every year there are players with a wide range of market value in dynasty leagues. Whether in a startup draft or via trading, we as owners must take a stand on one side or the other. With each player, I will give some arguments for and against them, finalizing with a conclusion on whether to turn away, or embrace them, as dynasty assets.

In This Edition: Jimmy Graham

*Notes by Chad Parsons, Patrick Kerrane*

Glass Half-Full

  • No other tight end has Graham’s potential to approach Gronk-like impact
  • Leading NFL tight ends in total receiving yards last two seasons by nearly 300 yards
  • No threat to take targets away (or red zone opportunities) from Graham in Seattle

Glass Half-Empty

  • Saints 40+ passes/gm in ’12, ’13, ’14. Seahawks last 3 yrs: 25, 26, 28.
  • To match ’14 volume, Graham would need 29% of ’14 Seattle’s attempts, TE record in last 15 yrs
  • If not elite (say 12-14 PPG), what happens to 29yo Graham’s value next offseason?
  • TE12 in PFF Pass Rating in 2014
