The dynasty fantasy football community has been swift to react strongly to Week 1 of the 2015 NFL preseason. It feels like an Allen Iverson moment….we talkin’ about the preseason – not the regular season – not the regular season – preseason. Defenses are not scheming for opponents much (if at all) and players are shuffled in-and-out on defense far more than during the season. I am one to stick to 99% of my pre-draft evaluation through the preseason and into a prospect’s rookie year.
Out of curiosity, I looked at the 2014 preseason stat leaders. As expected, backups littered the top of the yardage leaders at the skill positions. So I looked instead at the strongest players in terms of efficiency and yardage. Here are highlights by position (excluding obvious fantasy starters):
