Values of the Week
Kirk Cousins – $10,200 (vs. TB)
Two weeks ago the Bucs allowed Blake Bortles to carve up their defense for 4 passing touchdowns and his highest completion percentage of the year (69.7%). While Cousins doesn’t have the same weapons as Bortles he can still put up numbers against the Bucs defense.
Todd Gurley – $10,300 (vs. CLE)
A value is generally someone who costs less than $10K. Gurley will be the exception since he has ‘special day’ potential against one of the league’s worst run defenses. If the Rams continue to feed Gurley over 25 times a game, Gurley could triple his value.
Theo Riddick – $6,900 (vs. MIN)
Only up $500 and getting even more of the work. Riddick is quickly carving out a nice role in this offense which will only grow as Abdullah continues to fumble his role away. Using Riddick at one of your RB slots is a great way to build your line-up with studs in other places.
Devin Funchess – $6,500 (vs. PHI)
Two catches on six targets does not make a great stat line. The Panthers are trying to manufacture touches for its big rookie wide receiver and we could see him start to take off in the weeks to come.
Dontrelle Inman – $6,400 (vs. OAK)
Keenan Allen will possibly be out for week 7 and Dontrelle Inman will step in as the WR1 in the Chargers offense. With Rivers averaging around 42 pass attempts per game Inman could see double digit targets against the Raiders defense.
Jacob Tamme – $6,700 (vs. TEN)
On average the leading TE in a Kyle Shanahan offense sees over five receptions a game and the Titans just finished giving up 7 receptions, over 60 yards, and 2 touchdowns to the Dolphins. The Falcons could stick to the same recipe and attack the Titans with their pass catching tight end.
St Louis Rams – $4,800 (vs. CLE)
Josh McCown is careless with the football and the Rams defense will bring pressure from every direction. I could easily see McCown throwing 4 INTs in this game and forcing the Browns to put in Manziel.
Players To Avoid
Carson Palmer – $13,600 (vs. BAL)
Losing to the Steelers will leave a bad taste in Bruce Arians’ mouth and his team will come out fired up. Palmer may be sitting by the start of the fourth quarter.
Latavius Murray – $11,600 (vs. SD)
The Chargers offense could make the Raiders a one-dimensional offense quickly. After being benched twice this year I would fade Murray and look for other options.
Calvin Johnson – $14,700 (vs. MIN)
He did have his best game of the season in week 6 (31.6 points) against the Bears defense. Priced as the 9th-most expensive wide receiver on Fantasy Draft I need to see more than one game above 20 points to put him in my daily line-up. I would consider Calvin in my tournament games, as a contrarian play, because there will be a high fade away from him due to price.
Gary Barnidge – $10,300 (vs. STL)
The Rams have only allowed one touchdown to tight ends this season and this defense will be keying on Barnidge with their speedy linebackers. Barnidge will not find as much space against the Rams as he found against his earlier opponents.
Stacks of the Week
Landry Jones ($10,500) + Martavis Bryant ($9,900) = $20,400 (vs. KC)
Picking any passing line-up against the Chiefs is going to be a great start. Both Jones and Bryant are great values and Bryant a big-play threat to at least double his value. This is a great play for cash and tournament games.
Brian Hoyer ($11,100) + DeAndre Hopkins ($17,000) = $28,100 (vs. MIA)
Hoyer has put up underrated production in relief and Hopkins has scored 20+ points in 5 of the last 6 weeks, according to FantasyDraft scoring. Hopkins has proven he will bring value to any quarterback that is throwing him the rock.
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($11,400) + Brandon Marshall ($15,000) = $26,400 (vs. NE)
Fitzpatrick is a gunslinger and won’t stop firing to his number one wide receiver and Marshall will never stop demanding the ball. Even with this offense going against the opportunistic Patriots defense there are plenty of weapons in New York to keep the pressure off Fitzpatrick and Marshall.
