Before getting started, yards, touchdowns receptions are not all created equal in the eyes of the projection model for incoming running back prospects. At what age did they accrue these stats? What is the average production for other NFL prospects at that age? How high was their collegiate peak? These are all good questions to produce a +/- system centered around the average prospect and producer in any given category.

In this post, I will be outlining the top-3 running back producers from their college years by adding their rushing and receiving scores. The first two running backs on this list will not surprise anyone:

+227% David Johnson

The small school product is slightly above-average on the ground and historically-dominant through the air.

+198% Todd Gurley

Gurley is the crown jewel of a very solid running back class. He is young, productive, and as all the attributes of an upcoming fantasy stud in the NFL.

The third name, however, is not even listed on MyFantasyLeague.com at this juncture.
