Much like Michael Dyer in the 2015 running back class, Malcolm Brown is that ‘blast from the past’ name in college football. Brown ripped off an outstanding age-adjusted 18-year-old season, but proceeded to fizzle off the next three seasons at Texas.
Athleticism
At 5’11” and 224 pounds Malcolm Brown is your quintessential running back build. He also has huge hands (10.25″). His overall athleticism hovers around average with a decent 4.62 40-time and modest other drills.
The biggest drill of note for Brown at his size is the 6.86 3-cone time he put up…again at 224 pounds. When adjusted for weight, that time is in the top-25% of running back prospects since 1999. One thing I look for in bigger backs that is a plus – a good adjusted 3-cone time; Brown qualifies in that regard.
