The appetizer to Saturday’s underwear olympics main course, the tight ends on friday, left plenty to be desired in terms of measured athleticism. We knew the landscape was bleak in 2015, but the day underwhelmed even those tempered expectations.
Maxx Williams Then….
Williams has been the consensus top tight end since, well, he had hurdled college defenders months ago. While he did nothing spectacular in Indy, no one from ‘the pack’ really challenged him. Williams showed solid hands, long arms, and big hands, but the athleticism part? Meh. More to come with his post-combine write-up, but temper expectations from where they were a week ago.
