While athleticism in and of itself is a smaller factor in the projection model than folks would assume, it still matters. Jarvis Landry and a few other wide receivers over the years have logged woeful numbers prior to being fantasy relevant in the NFL. However, a baseline level of athleticism boosts a prospect’s probability of turning into a fantasy starter. Here are the wide receivers to watch at the NFL Combine that need an athleticism score boost in the model:
Jamison Crowder: Small in every sense, but reasonably productive at Duke
Nelson Agholor: Likely on thin side and the ‘meh’ athleticism range
Kenny Bell: Another light prospect that needs to surprise to even get to neutral athleticism score
